About

My name is Terry Nowakowski

I’m a licensed clinical social worker with more than thirty years of experience supporting individuals, couples, children, teens, families, and older adults. I believe healing is personal, and I work with you to understand what you need and what will help you move forward.

My approach looks at the whole person, your relationships, daily life, stress, support, health, and the environments where you feel safe or unsafe. I use talk therapy, art therapy, and mind‑body techniques to help with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, and life changes.

Alongside my therapy work, I’ve held leadership roles in Connecticut’s behavioral health system and helped develop trauma‑informed and gender‑responsive care guidelines.

My goal is to offer a calm, supportive space where you feel understood and can begin to heal.

Mission

Healing With Compassion.

How I Work With Clients

I support clients through a compassionate, integrative approach to healing. I work with individuals, couples, families, children, teens, adults, and elders, meeting each person where they are and honoring the pace that feels right for them.

My work blends traditional counseling with a deeper, more spiritual way of seeing and understanding the whole person. I draw from trauma‑informed care, Art Therapy, CBT, and mind–body–spirit practices that help people reconnect with themselves, find clarity, and move toward a more grounded and peaceful way of being.
